All due repect for Dr. Fee, but If you take HIM literally, then one could reasonably argue that Jesus’ prophecy of his resurrection (or any other resurrection) was simply Messianic prose (exactly as The Nation of Islam sees it).
The interview was not very informative as he only cited biblical prophecy “extremists” (e.g. Hal Lindsay, Jack Van Impe, etc.) as a contrast to his point of view. It’s not difficult to validate one’s perspective when its pitted only against virtual lunatics.
I read with interest the interview with Gordon Fee. It showed how the Bible should be read and Revelation in particular. The
tyranny of chapter and verse numbers was well covered. I especially found helpful mention of how the text can be flattened out and the consequences when that happens. The interview also showed how important the first century setting of Revelation, as well as what it has to say to the Church in the 21st century.
I look forward to adding it to my existing commentaries.
